What is paxil? Paroxetine (trade names Seroxat, Paxil) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant. Marketing of the drug began in 1992 by the pharmaceutical company SmithKline Beecham, now GlaxoSmithKline. Paroxetine is used to treat major depression, obsessive-compulsive, panic, social anxiety, and generalised anxiety[1] disorders in adult outpatients.

Important information about paxil
Dont take paxil with monoamine inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), pimozide (ORAP), phenelzine (Nardil), thioridazine (Mellari), rasagiline (Azilect), selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam), or tranylcypromine (Parnate).

If You take paxil and you have symptoms such this: panic attacks, anxiety, trouble sleeping, mood or behavior changes, or if you feel agitated, irritable, hostile, aggressive, restless, hyperactive (physically or mentally), more depressed, or have thoughts about hurting yourself or suicide - immediately call a doctor.

Before taking Paxil you should consult with your doctor
, if You have allergic to any drugs, or if you have:
blood clotting disorder or bleeding, kidney or liver disease, epilepsy or seizures, bipolar disorder (manic depression), suicidal thoughts or history of drug abuse.
